yeah...this is a short post today. I had 10 press kits for Lollishops and 3 packages from the weekend to get to the post office today..whew! Coffee break!

Promised Pictures of My Craft Room!

So it took me a while...my craft room frequently looks like a storm swept through...so here it is...fragments of parts of the room...Hope you enjoy!

The first photo shows a part of my craft room that has very little to do with my business...see that old rocking chair there? I LOVE that so much. The husband wanted to throw it out and I threw myself on it and told him no way!

She's Got Skills!

I just have to talk about this wonderful gal....the brains and talent behind Thompson Designs! Imagine me, a gal addicted to the Internet, who has absolutely no talent for graphic design...except for the designs locked in my head....I have to say, usually when I come to someone and tell them kind of what I want, I end up getting the exact opposite....so if you are like me, turn to Renee of Thompson Designs at http://www.thompsondesigns.etsy.com/, and you will be glad you did!

So why the new look, you may ask? Well I'll tell you why! About a month ago I go accepted to Lollishops, and I will be a bath and body seller on there as well as my Etsy shop. Right now I'm using the new banner in my etsy shop....and may continue to do so depending on how good the response to it is.

Soap!

So I was going over my supplies the other day and was mildly shocked to see how many different fragrance oils I have. Goodness when did I get so many of them, and why on earth have I not used them yet?

Well I'll tell you why....there's just too many of them! I almost feel like I should be using them all at once...you know...getting out my soap recipe book and going to town on several dozen loaves of cold process soap...or getting out the soy wax and making a whole load of candles! But instead they beckon to me...giving me ideas for the upcoming fall and winter season, maybe even throw in some summertime faves during the winter so the winter dolldrums don't set in!

Tomorrow I'm taking pictures of my craft room and my fragrance oil cabinet...you'll giggle...I know you will!

Personal

Its really hard to sit down and write a blog entry consistently. Oh sure, its really easy if all your looking to do is fill a daily spot with some randomness, but to really sit down, and write out a well thought out, meaningful blog entry can be a challenge....

So this is what I plan to do with this poor abused blog of mine. On the off times when I'm not shamelessly promoting myself on here, I would like to write entries that would really mean something to someone, I would like to hear what you would like to see on this blog. Would you like to hear about other people's endeavors? Would you like to hear about my everyday routine? Maybe just see some pictures...and if so, of what?(sorry, no porn!) Would you like me to rant and rave about my business?....Perhaps rant and rave in general?(I can do that too...I'm a seasoned professional)!

Reply to this post with your ideas...I'd really like to hear them. I believe that a beautiful blog should not only keep its readers interested, but that it should also give its readers a voice as to what they would like to see as well. YOUR input is greatly appreciated!

Where On Earth Have I Been???!!!!!

Well...I'll tell you exactly where I've been and what I've been doing! For those of you who are kind enough to check into my blog to see if anything is new, you will notice my header is different. That's right, I am no longer http://www.deeshomegoods.etsy.com/, as of March 19, 2008 my official business name on and off etsy is now Barefoot Bath and Body!

Why the change? Well I'll tell you why! First, business was great, and I want to thank everyone who tried me out over the year 2007....but....It's hard to sell your products when you don't like your business name....and business could have been better to tell the truth...so, I spent months during this new year coming up with a name I would love and be proud of, and which would truly represent me and my products! I hope you like the new name!

Now, as for what else have I been doing? Well.....developing new bath and body products for one thing! I don't just make products and then put them out on the marketplace...NO WAY! I like to come up with a recipe, test it out, and test it out on my family and friends(but never my animal friends, mind you!)...this way, I can develop the best product for my loyal and new customers! So, for the past few months I have been perfecting my lip balm recipe, and, I now have hand and body lotion, and I hope to have a foaming sugar scrub up for sale very soon as well!

Okay viewers! I will be back often, I promise! In the meantime, browse around and enjoy the wonderful pictures I will be posting in the next few days!
